Established in 2012, Mozambeat has grown from a simple dream into a way of life. Designed and built with that Dutch touch by Ray, who is still behind the scenes making sure that everything runs smoothly (catch him on the decks during our high season parties) and Sisi – one of Mozambeats' first guests and subsequent business partner. Sisi looks after the finishing touches and ensures guests get the experience of a lifetime. We are also on hand to assist with anything you might like to experience during your stay.

Newly renovated in 2020, our facilities are fresh and immaculate. Our well stocked onsite bar and restaurant mean you never have to leave the poolside – our shady gardens are an oasis among the palm trees. We also occasionally hold events which can be an opportunity to experience the local community, but sometimes we go bigger: hosting both Mozambican and international DJ's.

From Mozambeat you can settle into the rhythm of Tofo life, a coastal community that blends Mozambican village lifestyle with intrepid travellers, surfers and divers along the edge of some of the world's most beautiful and unspoilt beaches. Just around the corner lies Tofinho Point, one of East Africa's best point breaks, and Backdoor beach – the perfect place to see humpback whales as they traverse the coast (June – October).

We're also working toward a greener future by doing monthly beach clean-ups and reducing our reliance on single use plastics. Our rooms include eco-friendly amenities, we have our own veggie garden and we do our best to source our produce locally.

We believe in considering our social impact and work hard to give back to the local community. In 2017, Inhambane was hit by a cyclone in which more than 20 000 homes were lost. In the time that followed we helped rebuild many homes, a church and a school. Now, we are busy delivering food and care packages to the community, currently impacted by the loss of tourism due to COVID19. Click here to read more about our social responsibility.
